Trends we love: Covering up

Covering up! This trend has been gracing the runway since a couple of seasons ago and by the looks of the fall 2014 collection, the covering up trend is still going pretty strong. Ideal if you’re getting married in a colder climate a gown with a bolero would certainly help you brave the winter chills. There are so many selections when it comes to covering up, embellished jackets, bolero to even a cape! Well, maybe not too relevant to our Singapore’s all year round sun, but some brides do like this trend if they are willing to deal with the heat. This trend would be a good option for brides who are getting married in churches that has a strict dress code.

Don’t you just adore the color BLUE? This color can go from pastel to dark and it still looks romantic! Do you prefer a sweet pastel blue themed wedding or a royal blue romantic styled wedding? Let us know which is your favorite shade of blue! 

Trend Alert: Spaghetti Strap

We love spaghetti strap gowns! They are super fun to play with, very comfortable and most importantly casual yet really fashionable. This 90s trend is back on the rise, and we’re really excited about it. Featured across bridal designer’s runway, one of our fav is Amsale! Amsale’s take on the spaghetti strap is really romantic utilizing lace and a bit more poof with a ballgown bottom.

From Runway to Real life: Oscar de la Renta

This signature Oscar de la Renta gown surely has the WOW factor. Silk Organza Ball Gown with Sweetheart Neckline and Floor Length Ruffled Skirt. We love creating mood boards! Color themes are very common these days. A pink wedding is ideal if the bride is super princessy and girly! Its so sweet and romantic. Whereas a monochrome wedding adds a vintage vide and its super classy!

A two color theme can also be interesting but its important to pick the right color. While red and green would be a little too festive unless your wedding is on Christmas day, consider using complementary colors to create a color blocking themed wedding!

A good place to start thinking would be your venue, and possibly your usual fashion style, a bride who never ever likes strapless would feel really uncomfortable wearing a strapless gown for 12 hours on her wedding day.
